About the job

The Red Hat Program Management (PgM) team is looking for an Intern with some experience in Software Engineering to join us in Waterford, Ireland. In this role, you will work with a group of talented software engineers, project managers, program managers and contributors across the globe. You’ll work on expanding, automating, and streamlining our cloud services onboarding processes. This internship will give you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about Red Hat’s business and the open source culture.

What you will do

  • Develop internal tools to streamline and automate onboarding processes
  • Participate in upstream communities
  • Cooperate with other engineers, program managers and other stakeholders as needed
  • Learn to collaborate and innovate with other associates in the wider team
  • Troubleshoot technical and procedural issues and help deliver creative solutions
  • Work both on your own, remotely, and collaboratively with others in your team

What you will bring

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Desire to improve and streamline processes
  • Passion for problem-solving and debugging technical issues
  • Some working knowledge of Git usage and workflows
  • Good understanding of scripting and programming with any languages such as Java, Golang, Python, and Red Hat Ansible Automation; all are not required.
  • A basic understanding of Linux operating systems
